About
The George Hotel

Genuine hospitality since 1814.

Welcoming guests for more than 200 years, The George Hotel is a well-loved institution in Montrose. We take pride in providing genuine hospitality, a cosy place to stay, hearty local food and a place to bring people together.

Where History Meets Hospitality

The hotel is housed in a stunning Georgian-era building on our namesake George Street. Located right in the town centre, we’re a short walk from the train station and not far from many of the wonderful attractions that the area has to offer.

Exceptional Service on Every Visit

Hotel Manager Tracy Park oversees all day-to-day operations at The George, and ensures that we’re always providing brilliant service for our hotel guests and restaurant patrons alike.

Proud New Owners

Taking a well-earned retirement, The George Hotel owner Trish Douglas has passed ownership of the hotel to the independent group, Homesly Homes. The group will continue to run The George with the same warm welcomes and friendly faces at the heart.
